Battle Phase (Overview):
- Player 1 cannot attack on their first turn.
- Entering the Battle Phase is optional, but once entered, you complete all steps
Battle Phase Steps
- Start Step
- Activate any effects that occur “at the start of the Battle Phase.”
- Battle Step
- Declare attacks one at a time.
- Only face-up Attack Position monsters can attack.
- Each monster may attack once per turn.
- If the opponent controls no monsters, attacks may be direct
- Damage Step
- Attack resolves; ATK / DEF determines damage and destruction.
- Effects that apply during Damage Step may activate.
Damage Step
- End Step
- Trigger effects that resolve “at the end of the Battle Phase.”
